Alabama Rising

We first ran across Baltimore-based standup comedian Alabama when he opened/filled in for a late-running Doug Benson at the Baltimore Comedy Factory. The Talledega-born comedian adapted quickly to the expectant crowd, who seemed taken with his good-natured humor, until a “jet-lagged” Benson finally arrived.

Alabama replied to our invitation with alacrity, and when he stopped by Poison Dart Studios he recorded not one but two pieces for the show–one of which appearsĀ  in our upcoming 35th Webisode, Noise Collection. We think you’ll agree his voice-acting chops are considerable!

Alabama (real name DeShawn) has opened up for national headliners such as Mark Curry, Tommy Davidson, and Paul Mooney, and regularly appears at Baltimore’s Comedy Factory and onĀ 98 Rock, which, in an interesting twist, is actually located at 97.9 on your FM dial.
